Cabinet reshuffle: MoS Sports Jitendra Singh will be also MoS Defence

In a new communique issued by the Rashtrapati Bhavan, it was stated that Singh, who was allocated the portfolio of Minister of State(MoS) with Independent Charge of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, shall also be allocated the portfolio of MoS in the Ministry of Defence.

Jitendra Singh, who became the Minister of State(MoS) with Independent Charge of Youth Affairs and Sports ministry in the Cabinet reshuffle, will also hold charge as MoS in the Defence ministry, it was officially stated on Sunday night.

In a new communique issued by the Rashtrapati Bhavan, it was stated that Singh, who was allocated the portfolio of Minister of State(MoS) with Independent Charge of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, shall also be allocated the portfolio of MoS in the Ministry of Defence.

The communique said Jitin Prasad, who was earlier shown as MoS in the Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Human Resources Development shall be changed to be read as Minister of State in HRD only.

It said the changes were effected on the advice of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
