Cabinet rejig: Decision of the party supreme, say Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Uma Bharti after resignation

Minister for Water Resources Uma Bharti, and Nirmala Sitharaman, Minister of State for Commerce, Industry and Corporate Affairs, and Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Minister with independent charge of State Skill Development and Entrepreneurship stepped down from their positions on Thursday.

A slew of ministers has been asked to resign by the BJP before the possible reshuffle of the cabinet by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which is likely to happen before PM leaves for BRICS on September 3. Rajiv Pratap Rudy, who happens to be the first of four ministers to resign claims " this decision has been taken by the party and as a true soldier of the party, I abide by it". While talking to the media he said nothing else should be attributed to this. 

When asked about his future role leading up to Lok Sabha elections 2019 he said: "I don't know what role I am going to play, whatever role party assigns me, I will accept it". 

Rajiv Pratap Rudy met BJP chief Amit Shah on Thursday after which resignation decision was conveyed to the media. 

Shah, who has already had several meetings over the past two weeks with several cabinet ministers, held an unscheduled meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi just before Rudy's resignation.

Minister for Water Resources Uma Bharti, and Nirmala Sitharaman, Minister of State for Commerce, Industry and Corporate Affairs, and Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Minister with independent charge of State Skill Development and Entrepreneurship stepped down from their positions on Thursday. 

Uma Bharti has also reacted on her decision to resign.
