Business partner reveals to police that the bodies of Hasan's wife and four children were buried in different locations in and around Delhi
Choudhary Munnawar Hasan, a Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader’s family was killed a month back and the killers who shot him on Saturday revealed to the police that the bodies of his wife and four children were buried in different locations in and around Delhi.
The Delhi Police, in a late night exhumation operation, recovered the bodies of Munnawar's two sons, Akeeb and Shakeeb. Their bodies were buried five feet under the ground with a lot of salt.
The police were clueless about the killings for a month and stumbled upon the information while interrogating Bunty alais Sahib Khan, Hasan's partner arrested after his murder.
Hasan, facing rape charges, was out on interim bail when hired killers shot him on Saturday.
In a shocking revelation, Bunty who was arrested by the police, revealed that he had even murdered Hasan's wife Israt and four children, including two daughters. He did all this just to take over various properties of Hasan and while planning the brutal killings had also started preparing documents in order to take over his properties worth crores.
Bunty told the police that he buried the bodies of the wife Ishrat and daughters Aarzoo and Aarai in the farms on the highway towards Saharanpur and dug the bodies of the sons in Burari area in North Delhi. Two more contract killers have been identified who helped Bunty eliminate the family members. More arrests are likely to be made on Tuesday. Late on Monday evening the Delhi Police along with civic agencies started the exhumation of the bodies.
Munnawar was lodged in Tihar jail in a case of sexual assault since January 19, 2017. He came out on interim bail on May 17. Bunty had only helped Munnawar come out on bail. Munnawar along with Bunty had informed the police on May 18 that his wife, daughters and son had gone somewhere without his knowledge. Bunty on Saturday informed the police that Munnawar was shot dead at his residence in Bhagat Colony area. The police reached the location and found Munnawar lying on his chest with gun shot injuries. "Half of his body was inside the bathroom while half was out and he had gun-shot injuries on his back, Bunty even asked me if i had seen someone coming down the staircase," said Phool Singh, owner of the house where Munnawar resided and had illegally occupied as well. Many rounds were fired but its strange as to how not even the land-lord living on the ground floor also did not hear a sound.
"During police investigations statement of Bunty who was the initial complainant in the case, his friend Deepak and one of the neighbours was recorded. Finding discrepancies in the statements of Deepak and Bunty, the police interrogated Bunty at length and he confessed to have hired contract killers in order to get Munnawar killed,"said DCP (North) Jatin Narwal.
Narwal further added that on his instance Feroze and Zulfiqar were arrested by the police.
Neighbours residing in the lane number 4 where Munnawar resided too also revealed that since he was out on bail they had spotted a car and some unknown faces in the locality.
In order to keep himself out of police scanner he kept calling on Munnwar's mobile phone even though he knew he had been killed by his hired killers. He later made a call to the police informing them about his murder.
Ever since he was out on bail Bunty spent maximum time with him. A confidante, business partner and just another family member, Bunty had his eyes on his properties. Thinking that even if Munnwar will be killed his family members could claim the property he hatched a conspiracy to eliminate all six of them. On the pretext of taking them to a relatives house he took his wife and two daughters to Saharanpur and murdered them mid-way in the farms and buried them there along with two others, he told the police. He further stated that when his two sons came to him asking him about their other family members he then smothered them to death and dug their bodies at his office in Kamal Vihar few metres away from Munnawar's residence.
