Sounds bizarre? Well, it's true. The students complain that the 15-mark questions were out of their syllabus and out of their course material also.

According to an Indian Express report, the brain behind the question paper is Professor Kaushal Kishore Mishra.
Professor Mishra, who set the question paper for 'Social and Political Thought in Ancient and Medieval India', said that, 'interpreted the two thinkers and taught their philosophies through new and current examples like GST and globalisation.'
Reacting to those who were criticising the question paper, Professor Mishra said, 'Isn’t it our job to find newer ways to teach.'
While the students of the BHU claim that 'Sir had dictated the answers, and specifically told us that we would get these questions,' the colleges affiliated to the central university said that they had no idea about the concept and it was out of their course material.
Professor Mishra, who has openly admitted that he is an RSS member, says that his personal views don't interfere in his teaching.
Despite the hue and cry raised by the students, the RP Singh, the head of department, rejected that the questions were out of syllabus.
“It is the prerogative of the teacher to set the paper according to his area of specialisation.” Singh was quoted as saying by the Indian Express.
