A 28-year-old girl from Bengal's Bankura district, Akanksha Sharma who had been missing for seven months, was found murdered and buried under a concrete structure in Bhopal's Saket Nagar area on Thursday.
Sharma, who had left her home in Bankura seven months back had told her parents that she had bagged a job in USA and shifted. However, she had moved in with her live-in partner, Uday Das in Bhopal, according to Bhopal Police. Since then, Sharma remained disconnected with her parents back home in Bankura.
A week ago, Sharma's father, Shivendra filed a missing person's complaint. The police traced Akanksha's last tower location in Bhopal. Acting on the complaint, a team comprising Bankura police officials reached Uday's house in Bhopal and detained him. A few hours into interrogation, Uday confessed of killing Akanksha and burying her under a concrete structure.
He also confessed that he had dug a grave inside his house and buried Akanksha's body. Later, he built a concrete structure on top of it alone. Meanwhile, the police are dismantling the concrete structure so that the dead body buried inside could be sent for post mortem.
