While the issue of a five-year-old girl's rape inside a classroom in Delhi is still raging, a girl studying in a school in Bengaluru was allegedly sexually assaulted in the school premises.
The incident took place in a private school in Dasarahalli near Peenya.
According to reports, the girl was assaulted by the security guard in the school's toilet. The accused identified as Obalesh, has been arrested under the Protection of Children Against Sexual Offences (POCSO)
When the girl was taken to the hospital, the doctor indicated that she must have been sexually assaulted.
"CCTV visuals from multiple cameras at the school has been recovered. "We are awaiting a detailed medical examination report," a senior police official told The New Indian Express.
"The school has CCTV cameras in every corner and we examined the footage for four hours," the officer said.
On Tuesday night, the girl's parents and locals protested outside the school, following which the police had to resort to a mild lathicharge to disperse the crowd, reports said.
