Andhra Pradesh: Married girlfriend throws acid on 23-year-old boyfriend

In Tenali, a woman reportedly threw acid on her boyfriend demanding that they live together. A report in Deccan Chronicle quotes circle inspector of police at Tenali Two-Town police station Kalyana Raju as saying that Geetanjali, 30, wanted to live in with Venkateswarlu, 23, and on Thursday night threw acid on him. 

Geetanjali is reportedly married and was having an extra-marital affair with Venkateswarlu. She had taken money from him and problems cropped up when he tried to break off the relationship. He was engaged to be married and wanted Geetanjali to return the money.

Geetanjali asked him to come on Thursday night to take the money but threw acid on his face and body when he showed up. He has been admitted to a private hospital.

Police have registered a case against Geetanjali, who is said to be absconding. They have also stated that Venkateswarlu has two prior cases against him related to extra marital affairs and sexual harassment.
