Accidental landmine blast in Jammu and Kashmir leaves one injured

A porter on Tuesday suffered injuries after he stepped on a landmine in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.

According to reports, Mohammad Khursheed, a porter with the Indian army, was working along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Bhimber Gali sector when he accidentally stepped on the landmine.

Dr Abdul Salam Choudhary, who treated Khursheed, said that his heel was shattered but expressed hope in saving his leg.

"The patient stepped on a mine and due to the blast, his heel has been shattered but his leg can be saved," said Choudhary.

The doctor added that Khursheed will be sent to a higher centre for surgery after preliminary treatment.
