5.2 magnitude earthquake strikes India-Nepal border

Tremors were also felt in a few other places.

A medium intensity earthquake measuring 5.2 on Richter scale hit the Indo-Nepal border in Uttarakhand on Thursday night at 10.22pm, the National Seismological Centre said. 

Tremors were also felt in parts of Uttarakhand, including Champawat, Srinagar, Garhwal and Almora.

According to the USGS, the epicentre of the earthquake was 24 kilometre north east of Dharchula in Uttarakhand.

No reports of loss of life or property have been reported so far.

Earlier in the day, an earthquake measuring 3.3 on the Richter scale had hit the Kullu region in Himachal Pradesh.
