Sri Lanka has arrested at least thirty Indian fishermen for allegedly poaching in its waters, Naval spokesman Commander Kosala Warnakulasuriya said today.

The Indian fishermen in a total of seven trawlers have violated the international maritime border and were arrested last night while fishing close to Nainativu, a small island near Jaffna, he said.

They will be handed over to the Director of Fisheries before being taken to Kankesanturai Harbour for further investigations.
