Tired of using hand sanitiser every time you eat, drink or touch any object? Here comes a door handle that dispenses a dab of hand sanitiser when pushed.

Developed by the British firm Altitude Medical, the sanitising door handles can be used from homes to hospitals where the risk of developing infection is high.

Called PullClean, it a simple column that can be fitted on any pull door.

A blue paddle on bottom dispenses hand sanitiser everytime someone uses it.

"The aim is to make it so simple that sanitising becomes habitual every time you open the door," the firm said.

The refillable handles come with built-in sensors that link to a web application that can tell you how often the dispensers are being activated in relation to how frequently the doors are opened.

Hospitals can track sanitation rates over time and compare their use at different locations throughout the facility, the firm added in a statement.

In a latest report by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, one in 25 patients in the US hospitals acquires an infection during their stay in the hospital.
