When a shoe was hurled at Ajay Devgn!

There is a difference between playing a political leader in Prakash Jha’s Raajneeti and trying to get the crowds to listen to him in Bihar.

Superstar Ajay Devgn learnt this the hard way, when on Friday a chappal was hurled at Devgn’s cavalcade as it made its way to a political rally in Lakhisarai.

Devgan had been invited to the state on Friday by the BJP for a four-town tour in Jhajha, Parbatta, Rajauli and Lakhisarai.

The expectant crowds at the rally in Lakhisarai got restless and out of control.  Devgn fled the rally without making his rehearsed speech. And soon flew back to Mumbai on a chopper.

A source from the BJP says, “It was wrong of them to ask Ajay to campaign for the Bihar elections. Ajay is not an orator. Nor is he comfortable with public interaction.What does he know about Bihar’s politics? One can’t just persuade stars to stand up and recommend candidates like that. It is unfair to them.”

One thing is for sure. We won’t see Devgn in Bihar in the near future unless friend Prakash Jha invites him to shoot for Raajneeti 2. And that’s unlikely because Jha never shoots any of his Bihar films in the state. More than anyone else, he knows how unruly excited mobs can get in the interiors of Bihar.
