What happened to Amitabh Bachchan's dressing sense?

Though the Bachchans have been regulars at the Cannes, this year's gala is special for the family as superstar Amitabh Bachchan marks his Hollywood debut with Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby.

As the film is arguably the biggest moment in celluloid fashion this year, we expected the stars to keep the bar high off-screen too.

But Senior Bachchan's look kept us wondering what he was up to.

Bachchan, who posed with the cast of the film during the photocall, was seen wearing a cross between a suit and a shortened version of an  overcoat!

An otherwise fashion-conscious Big B failed to hit the mark as he chose to team up the blue striped 'suit' with white trousers and white shoes.

Earlier in the month, Bachchan had cut a strapping figure at The Great Gatsby world premiere in New York where he sported a black suit. 

The film will have the Bollywood veteran playing Meyer Wolfsheim, a Jewish wheeler-dealer who helps Gatsby (played by DiCaprio) raise his fortunes.

Buzz is that the newest addition to Bachchan's family, baby Aradhya will also be a part of the festival.

However, papa Abhishek will not be there as he is busy shooting for Dhoom 3.

Last year, we couldn't see Aaradhya by mommy Ash's side as she was barely five months old when the Cannes film festival happened, but now that Beti B is 17-months-old and has already travelled to Vancouver with her mom, we hope to see her on the red carpet in Cannes.
