Actress Kangana Ranaut, who has been at the center of news and controversies ever since the unfortunate demise of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, is making headlines yet again.
Amid the Narcotics Control Bureau’s crackdown on the celebrities-drugs mafia nexus in the Hindi film industry, a video of the Manikarnika star confessing to being addicted to drugs, has the attention of social media users.
In the video, while Kangana talks about the personal struggles she went through to make it big in Bollywood, she also admits that she indeed was into drugs.
“Jaise hi main ghar se bhaagi, dedh-do saal mein main ek film star thi, ek drug addict thi (After I ran away from home, within a-year-and-a-half or two I was a film star and a drug addict)”, Kangana can be heard saying in the video. The short clip which is now viral was shared earlier in March this year on the actress' verified Instagram account, which is handled by her team.

The video holds relevance now because, shortly before her arrival in Mumbai amid her war-of-words with Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut and the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's notice alleging parts of her Bandra office-cum-studio to be 'illegal structures', Kangana had offered to help the NCB by disclosing names of Bollywood actors who consumed drugs.
In fact, when Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh ordered a probe based on an old DNA interview in which actor Adhyayan Suman claimed that Kangana had forced him to consume drugs, in a series of tweets, responding to Anil Deshmukh, Kangana stated that she was more than willing to take the drug test herself and would leave Mumbai if link with drug peddlers and her was established.
For the uninformed, soon after the tragic demise of colleague Sushant Singh Rajput, Kangana, who has previously had tiffs with industry ‘insiders’, took to the micro-blogging site Twitter to openly challenge ‘Bollywood’s movie mafia gang’ and raise her voice against ‘nepotism’, ‘nepokids’, unfair treatment to ‘outsiders’ and most recently, threatened to expose the alleged use of ‘drugs' by various celebrities.
The NCB has been probing the drugs angle in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case and has arrested the late actor's girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty for her alleged role in procuring and consuming drugs.
