This is the debut vehicle for Harshvardhan Kapoor and Saiyami Kher.
The trailer for Harshvardhan Kapoor and Saiyami Kher's Mirzya is out and from the first look of it, it will be an epic cinematography journey for sure. Harshvardhan is Anil Kapoor's son and Sonam Kapoor's brother.
The trailer shows two lifetimes of two same people running parallel to each other. Harshvardhan Kapoor plays one-half of the romantic lead to the other half Saiyami Kher.
The story is inspired by the folk tale of the legend of Mirza Sahiban. One lifetime unfolds in picturesque Ladakh and the modern version of the same takes place in beautiful Rajasthan.
In the trailer, Saiyami is the narrator. She is talking about her friend Mohnish (Harshvardhan) who used to take care of her and suddenly went AWOL. Years pass and now Saiyami is set to marry someone else just then Harshvardhan's character makes a rather broody appearance.
This shall set the wheels rolling which takes us to all the lifetimes director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and writer Gulzar have set their protagonists to trade.
There is no doubt that it will be an intense love story. There is horse-riding, there is bike chasing, there are guns in modern times. You are then also treated to Dothraki-like hotties riding through the lakes of Ladakh in another life. This era has bows and arrows and a promise of all-consuming love.
Saiyami and Harshvardhan's dialogue delivery doesn't feel convincing. Their expressions are painful even in the scenes the duo is supposed to be happy for each other. Then there is the stable and there is a hint of steamy scene resembling the one of Anil Kapoor with Dimple Kapadia in Jaanbaaz. So are we to assume the fruit has not fallen very far from the tree?
Daler Mehendi's singing pierces your heart. This gives hopes to fans of Shankar Ehsaan Loy. Music and lyrics shall match the breathtaking shots captured by Pawel Dyllus.
This marks the beginning of Bollywood journey for Harshvardhan and Saiyami. Welcome, it might suck, but you will love it.
