Watch: Euphoria unveils teaser for new single 'Halla Bol'

Popular music band 'Euphoria' on Wednesday released a teaser of its new single 'Halla Bol' which is inspired by "true events" and features the violence in universities, lathicharge on students with word 'aazadi' (freedom) in question mark.

The rock band, most popular for its debut album 'Dhoom', was put together by singer and actor Palash Sen and his friends in New Delhi in 1988.

The teaser starts off with the lines: 'Based on true events', followed by the word 'aazadi' which flashes with a question mark. It touches off issues like 'intolerance', partition and JNU.

The teaser carries images of popular figures of the country's independence movement including first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru and Pakistan founder Mohammed Ali Jinnah.

Besides featuring the baton charge on protesting students and violence in universities, it also displays a "sting operation" on corruption.

"This is just a teaser, so I am not too keen to reveal much about the song at this point. But I would not deny that it is based on true events and we have raised numerous issues grappling our country since a long time," Sen said in a statement here.

"How we have tackled all these sensitive issues is for you to see when we release the video next week," he said.

It also shows the lead singer, Sen, in various get-ups such as a news channel anchor and a politician.

'Euphoria', one of the pioneers of the Indian pop music wave, is generally known for their light-hearted videos.
