Using the family jewels

From a Disney princess (in Khoobsurat) to a Rajshri (in Prem Ratan Dhan Payo) one, Sonam Kapoor is on something of a role roll.

Visibly excited about the Sooraj Barjatya film, PRDP, she chirps, "I guess all the kids who grew up in the '80s and '90s were big on those films. Working on PRDP is like revisiting a Maine Pyar Kiya or a Hum Aapke Hain... Koun? for me. I have a completely different look for the film."

Our khabroo gave us some inputs on Sonam's character. "Sonam will play a beautiful royal Indian princess and her look has been designed to suit her sharp features."

The actress, who resumes shooting for the film, informs us that she will be wearing 'heavy jewellery' throughout the next schedule. And so, she decided to sport her mom's collection instead. Sonam says the idea struck her right away. "Yes when I was going through the look test, I thought my mom's collection would just be perfect", she continued. Involving her mother was 'solely her decision' and she is excited to see how it turns out on screen.

But there is a specific reason why she chose to use her mom's collection. "My mom has loads of pearls and vintage jewellery in her collection which I feel is apt for the look", Sonam gushed. Ask her what all she would be wearing and she's all smiles, "I shall be using a lot of heavy neckpieces and earrings along with hand accessories".
