Denials from Anurag Kashyap abound, but word on the B-Town street is that Ranbir Kapoor is unhappy with the way Bombay Velvet has shaped up. The actor, who was poised to be the next big thing post Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani feels he has lost precious time in the last two years after Besharam by Abhinav Kashyap.

After seeing the rushes of his next release, he is seriously wondering if he will be able to regain lost ground. An actor's star status is dictated by his last release and Ranbir feels that actors like Sidharth Malhotra, Ranveer Singh, Varun Dhawan and Arjun Kapoor who were nowhere close to him in star power have delivered hit films and done interesting projects, while he has nothing to show for his last two years.

The film, originally due to release in 2014, was due to release in May this year. It is learnt that when RK expressed his displeasure with the way the film has shaped up, a reshoot was decided and letters were send out to the entire cast asking to shoot for 40 days of patchwork. Patchwork for a film normally requires a few days, a week or maximum ten days. This meant that they were planning a major reshoot, When Ranbir's dad Rishi was called for his son's extra dates, he lost his cool and said, 'Why don't you take twenty days extra and make a new film?

Moreover, RK's next release is Roy, in which he is playing a cameo. A source close to Ranbir says that he is now looking at Imtiaz Ali's Tamasha with Deepika Padukone, which releases Christmas Day to bring him back in the game. The actor's last hit was in 2013. Chances are, he may have to wait for his next till 2016.

But the industry being what it is, an industrywalla has words of hope for the actor, "Ranbir has nothing to worry about. He is the uncrowned king of Bollywood after the 40-plus brigade. And as they say, a king in exile is still a king. he will reclaim his throne again effortlessly."
