'Happy to inform the surgery was a success': Shruti Haasan-Akshara Haasan on Kamal Haasan's health

Soon after Bigg Boss Tamil 4 ended, Kamal Haasan announced that he will be undergoing surgery in his ankle. The veteran actor-politician also released a statement in which he wrote that it's going to be a follow-up surgery as he finally got an opportunity to take some time off and rest. Now, Kamal's daughters and actors Shruti Haasan and Akshara Haasan released a joint statement that his surgery was successful and will be discharged in the next few days.

The statement read as "We would like to begin by thanking you for your overwhelming support, prayers and genuine concern regarding our father's recent medical procedure. We are happy to inform all of you that the surgery was a success! The surgery was performed on his leg this morning at Sri Ramachandra Hospital performed by orthopaedic surgeon Dr Mohan Kumar along with DR JSN Murthy. The Doctors, attendees and the Hospital Management are taking wonderful care of our father and he is doing well, is in good spirits and working toward a speedy recovery.

He will return home in four to five days. After a few days of rest and recuperating from the surgery, he shall be ready to interact with people as always.

A heartfelt thank you from us for all your prayers for his well-being and the immense love showered on him. We are grateful that your good energy will be a big part of his speedy recovery!"

Meanwhile, Kamal Haasan had issued a statement regarding his surgery on January 17, 2021.
