As the fourth season of Karan Johar's much-hyped chat show Koffee With Karan nears the finale, the director-turned chat show host's best friend and superstar Shah Rukh Khan remains conspicuous by his absence.

And if the buzz is to be believed, the actor, who has appeared on all the seasons of KWK till now, will not be making an appearance on the show.

KWK has only two episodes left. While one features Parineeti Chopra and Alia Bhatt, the other will see Sunny Leone and Ekta Kapoor. The director is said to finish his fourth season with Parineeti and Alia.

On the first season, Shah Rukh Khan appeared in the premiere episode with Kajol and later with Amitabh Bachchan; in season 2 he appeared with Kajol and Rani Mukerji and in the third edition of the show, King Khan made a solo appearance.

However, SRK will be giving the fourth season a miss. But sources say that there is no trouble between KJo and SRK.

And according to sources, all is well between the friends. An entertainment website quoted this sources as saying, "Both Shah Rukh and Karan couldn’t take out time to shoot the episode. There’s no animosity.”

Karan too had clarified the tiff rumours in a previous interview. The director had said, “You can never take away the fact that Shah Rukh and I share a twenty year long professional and personal history. It’s sad that I have to explain my immense closeness to him on a daily basis.”

Well, we hope the friends reunite in the fifth season of Kofee With Karan.
