Quantico is Desi Girl Priyanka Chopra's big attempt at getting noticed in the US TV and movie turf. She is playing Alex Parrish, the lead character in ABC's fall line up show.

Quantico is a story of FBI recruits who come with their own baggage to train for the internal security organisation. The back and forth format of the series tells you that one of these recruits will be a suspect of a terrorist attack on American soil.

Priyanka has a strong fan following in India and has set herself as one of the bankable stars in Bollywood. Her tryst with Hollywood started with a voiceover in Disney movie Planes. Prior to that she collaborated with likes of will.i.am and Pitbull for various single releases.

Playing the protagonist in an American show is obviously a big deal. Foreign media is already calling her a breakout TV Star. Let's take a look at what others have to say -

Entertainment Weekly -

It’s the best Shonda Rhimes drama that Shonda Rhimes never touched. Like any good Shondaland drama, the pilot features oh-my-God twists, a suspenseful cliff-hanger, and a diverse cast of attractive, hyper-ambitious characters who generate enough sexual tension at work to warrant a call to HR. Plus, as a former Miss World who breaks typecasting as an inscrutable agent, Chopra’s bound to be a breakout star. Read more...

Indie Wire -

The story reminds me a little of Homeland, but the cast doesn't seem comparable. Still, there's lots of good energy, and the premise is clearly laid out (which is harder than it seems). I really hope her sex buddy doesn't turn out to be the bomber, though. Read more...

E Online -

Quantico has everything I like in a show: Sexy people! Secrets! Spies! And the split between the flashbacks to the first day of training camp and the present-day whodunit totally works, making you second-guess every character's every line and move. I'm all in. Read more...

There’s a reason there’s an ABC-mandated formula and Quantico may well be this factory’s greatest output yet. It’s ridiculous, arch and silly – but by golly is it fun. It’s the ABC formula rubbing its own nose in your face and you coming to the conclusion, despite all your misgivings, that you sort of like it. It’s a show trained to be a hit – to reach any demographic conceivable; and the shameless (and successful) boldness in which it caters to these four-quadrants is something of a marvel. Read more...

Huffington Post -

This drama, known by critics as either "Grey’s Academy” or “How to Get Away With Terror,” is sleek trash, but it’s sleek trash I quite enjoyed, even though I could see a few seams and shortcuts. And sure, my pleasure in this high-concept drama -- in which an unknown FBI academy student apparently helped engineer a terror attack -- could wane as early as Week 2. Read more...
