It's official! Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma is all set to direct the biopic of NT Rama Rao and the lead role is going to be played by the legendary actor's son, Nandamuri Balakrishna.
Varma shared the big news via voice note and said, "NTR is a name to reckon with every Telugu speaking individual. He was not just a great actor but a leader with unprecedented following. I'm very proud to direct a film on his life." And RGV even gave details about his personal connect with the legendry actor, "My personal relationship with him goes back to the year when his blockbuster film Adavi Ramudu had released. I didn't have money to take the bus to the movie hall. I walked ten kilometres each time and watched the film 23 times. "I was also one among the lakhs of people who had gathered during his first political meeting, soon after he launched the Telugu Desam Party. From being a faceless guy in that large gathering, to getting to direct his life story means something."
While NTR's son Nandamuri may have given his approval, his second wife, Lakshmi Parvathi has objected to the biopic. In a statement released, she said, " He showed NTR in a cruel role in his earlier films and I don't expect that he will do justice to him in his biopic."
The maverick filmmaker isn't directing a biopic for the first time. He directed a film based on Verappan's life in 2016 and has already registered the title 'Sasikala' which will based on Jayalalitha's life as narrated by her soul sister.
