Padma Awards 2016: Here's what Ajay Devgn has to say about his Padma Shri win!

The Padma Awards winners for 2016 have been announced. The awards are conferred in three categories - Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan and Padma Shri.

Actor Anupam Kher, Singer Udit Narayan, sculptor Ram Sutar, Former CAG Vinod Rai and theatre personality Heisnam Kanhailal have also been selected for the Padma Bhushan. Senior lawyer Ujjwal Nikam, actors Ajay Devgn and Priyanka Chopra will be awarded the Padma Shri this year.

Ajay who is now filming for his directorial venture Shivaay is over the moon with the news. He told, "I feel deeply humbled yet elated to receive such honour from my own country. This announcement today makes it special for me when I'm filming abroad for my new film Shivaay. I'd like to acknowledge that Padma Samman puts an extra responsibility on me and I promise to serve my country for as long as I can."

Congratulations, Ajay! The actor is now busy finishing Shivaay, post which he will quickly move on to shoot for Milan Luthria's Baadshaho, following which he will take a call on which film to start next- Sons of Sardaar or Rohit Shetty's next.
