Not Arjun Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapur to star in Shiddat with Varun Dhawan

Karan Johar has decided to revive his production Shiddat, after holding off on the project for a bit. In its current avatar, the cast will no longer have Arjun Kapoor playing the parallel lead alongside Varun Dhawan. Now Aditya Roy Kapur will essay that role.

Our source says, “Director Abhishek Varman made a few alterations in the script, as suggested by Karan. A slight change was made to the cast lineup. And following that, Varun’s still on board, but Arjun isn’t.”

It’s unfortunate because Arjun and Varun share a good camaraderie, one that would work on-screen, too. “But Aditya and Varun share a bonding, too. One that grew on the Dream Team tour. Moreover, Karan, who’s close to Aditya, was keen on casting him and Varun together,” reveals the source.

While Alia Bhatt was the initial choice to be the heroine, we now hear that KJo has roped in Jhanvi Kapoor opposite Varun in the project. Had Arjun been part of the film, it would have been a coup as the step siblings would have been part of the same film.
