‘Khallas Girl’ Isha Koppikar hit the theatres this week with Shabri, in which she plays a female gangster.

Isha, who is seen donning a female don’s hat, beams with happiness when asked about how life has changed post marriage.

“Life has become even more beautiful after marriage. I’ve never been so positive, so content before. I think having the right partner, with the right kind of energy is the biggest insecurity people have in life and most of the delays that happen in marriages in because of this. I believe my marriage is a blessing. The kind of family I’m married into, my in-laws, my husband, I’m leading a beautiful life. There so much of love, positive energy and goodness, I cannot ask for more,” she says.

She admits that acting took a backseat for a year and a half (she married businessman Timmy Narang in 2009) so she could enjoy her marriage.

“I’m a hardcore workaholic. I’ve practically landed in hospitals almost every third film of mine. I did not want this hyper-active nature of mine to affect my marriage. It’s a very big phase in a woman’s life, new people, new family, it’s an investment. It’s not like I’m married into a filmy family. They are a business family having nothing to do with films, and I did not want to burden them with this. I realised there’s more to life than my career. So I invested my time and now I'm happy,” she smiles, attributing her marriage as the reason behind Shabri seeing the light of day after five years.

Describing her role as Shabri, Isha says, “Shabri is a positive woman. The sole, breadwinner of the family, she has the responsibility of her family on her shoulders. The film is about how she turns into a female gangster. My de-glam look is the USP of the film.”

Isha, who is currently busy promoting her film, also spoke about her future plans. She informed that she’s heard a few narrations but nothing matching to her expectations has come up. “For the first time in my career I’m carrying the whole film on my shoulders. I’m not the heroine, but the hero. Now, I’m open to offers but nothing that feeds my hunger has come by especially after Shabri. I don’t want to do something just for the sake of it, to fill up my diary. Apart from films, I’m busy doing a lot many things,” she adds. She recently set up a hospitality company Soul Konnect with a childhood friend, using the expertise of husband Timmy.

Shabri, directed by Lalit Marathe and produced by Ram Gopal Verma, has been in the waiting for five years. Ram thought a film with a subject like this would not be accepted by the audience. It finally hit theatres on August 26.
