Latha Rajinikanth releases a patriotic song on Independence Day

Known to be a talented singer, superstar Rajinikanth’s wife Latha has released a patriotic song on Independence Day as a tribute to the nation. Titled 'Bharatham' or 'India', this is her way of celebrating Independence Day and honouring the nation, she says. 

Latha Rajinikanth explains the reason behind the song  as “saluting our glorious nation on its Independence Day”. In the video, she talks about the sacrifices made by those who fought for India’s independence including soldiers and legendary freedom fighters. She talks about how every individual can make India proud.

The playback singer has written the lyrics, composed and sung this song. It is set to a series of images of freedom fighters as well as people celebrating Independence Day across India over the last several decades.
