Anglo- French actress Kristin Scott Thomas has said that lack of film roles for actresses in their 50s is a disaster and the situation is unlikely to change.

Speaking on BBC One's Andrew Marr Show, the Four Weddings and a Funeral star said that until the average lifespan is 150 years or something, she does not think that women in their 50s are going to be considered at all viable, the BBC reported.

The Oscar-nominated actress, who will soon be seen in World War II drama Suite Francaise said that she stopped making films because she was bored with playing similar roles and she could not cope doing another film.

Thomas is best known for roles in The English Patient, Gosford Park and Four Weddings and a Funeral.
