Gauri Pradhan best remembered for her role as Nandini in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi is making a comeback to TV after a gap of five years. She will be seen playing the mother of two girls in the upcoming serial Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi. Called Falguni, Gauri's character will be strong, practical and shown to be a socialite hailing from a rich Gujarati family. "That was the clinching factor. I have always played strong characters and this one is even more challenging. Not only is Falguni older than me, there are several shades to her," says Gauri. Add to it, Ekta Kapoor producing the show and Gauri couldn't have asked for more. "I had been getting several offers, but it's always worked out with Balaji (Ekta's production house). It's like coming home," smiles Gauri, who was convinced by Ekta herself to take up the show as her comeback.

Sources say that her character will have a back story, wherein Falguni will be dumped by her boyfriend. She will then marry a guy much older to her for practical reasons and have a daughter. When asked about it, Gauri says, "All I can tell you is that it's a solid role." Didn't she have apprehensions playing a woman older than her and she retorts, "I played a mother to grown-up children in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. Of course, it didn't begin like that. However, while make a comeback, instead of worrying about the age, it's important to gauge how strong the character is."

But won't getting back to the grind mean being away from her four-and-a-half-year old twins? "Yes, but they will be starting school soon and will be busy. I think they are big enough and this is the right time to start working. Also, I have never worked for long hours and Balaji is accommodating," explains the pretty actress. What does her actor-husband Hiten Tejwani feel about her return to the small-screen? "He is very excited, he has been asking me to return to acting since a long time, I only wanted to stay back for the kids," smiles Gauri.

Ask her whether Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi's remake is also on the cards and she says, "With Smriti Irani becoming the HRD Minister I am not sure if it's happening now. If it is, I will definitely be a part of it."
