Rajinikanth’s highly anticipated Kabali has been delayed because of the upcoming assembly elections in Tamil Nadu. Rajinikanth himself suggested to the makers of Kabali that the film be postponed. The film's cast includes Radhika Apte as Kabali's wife and Dhansika as his daughter.

The makers want to avoid any controversy that could be associated with their film. Rajinikanth, whose film Baba was previously affected by political protests, is planning to avoid any such incidents with Kabali. The film is directed by Pa. Ranjith.

The film was stated for release on April 24 but a new release date is yet to be finalised. As per sources, the film may now get delayed to last week of May or early June. An official announcement is awaited. The teaser of this film will release in April.

Kabali is a high budget film and has simultaneous releases planned in Tamil and Telugu languages. Currently, the film is in final stages of canning some important fight sequences in Malaysia. The film is produced by S Thanu and has music by Santosh Narayan.
