While Ellen DeGeneres may have been rude to Priyanka Chopra on her show, PC’s cousin Parineeti Chopra, loves the show and is inspired by the host in her daily life.
Says Pari, “It’s Ellen. She’s one of those people who spreads so much happiness through her show and has helped or changed so many lives. She is what Oprah Winfrey was, so many years ago. I started watching her show more than 10 years ago and Ellen is the one person I would be star-struck by. If I ever met her in real life, I think I would start crying. Whenever I have felt low, depressed or down, I watch her shows because they make me happy and feel good. Ellen is one of my heroes as she’s helped me on days when I have not felt good. I am dying to meet her one day. On an emotional level, I feel motivated and inspired all the time by what she says as it really matters to me.”
Ellen has made a big difference to the actress’s life, Pari admits. “She always says as a parting note to be kind to one another which is a summation of what I think every day. She talks about being a truthful human and being funny. I am being funny all the time in any kind of situation. Everyone in films or my personal life, will tell you that no matter how grim it is, I am always making the other person laugh,” says the actress.
Today television is big and Parineeti, too, has considered hosting a chat show or judging a reality show, but right now she’s very busy with her film commitments. “I would love to be on TV because I do think I have the personality for it. Whenever I have gone on TV, I have got great feedback about it. My persona is definitely suited to host or judge a show and when I have time I will definitely do one. I am waiting for the right show to come up.”
