Docudrama on VG Damle wins National Award

Vishnupant Damle: Bolpatancha Mooknayak (Vishnupant Damle: The Unsung Hero of Talkies), a docudrama based on the life of Vishnupant Govind Damle, one of the founder member and partner of Prabhat Film Company won award for best biographical/historical reconstruction at the 59th National Films Awards. The docudrama is produced by Anil Damle and directed by Virendra Valsagkar.

VG Damle’s grandson Anil said, “I’m very happy that the film based on my grandfather’s life got the award. As the name suggests, VG Damle was the unsung hero who was always away from the publicity and the film underlines the milestones of his career.”
