Varun Dhawan is one energetic, jumpy Bolly young gun- full of enthusiasm and entertainment. But with Badlapur, the actor went rigorous transformations, both on reel and real.

"It's one character that I haven't played before. I don't know if it's funny to say so because I might have done only three films but Badlapur is something that I myself would not have expected to have happened to me, leave aside others. So when I got the film and slowly got involved with the process, the film changed me as a person. I became calmer, quieter and I was not jumping around like I usually do. It changed me internally and affected me really adversely inside", Varun said.

The actor also revealed that Badlapur was offered to him right after Student Of The Year. "You guys would not believe but this is the second film I signed. I was offered Badlapur right after SOTY and I wanted to experiment. But then, the other two films happened in between and they released before Badlapur"

The actor, who had personally undergone a lot of changes for the film, clarified that he's getting back to being his normal self. "It was tough to get out of the character but I guess Dance and ABCD 2 helped me to get out of it"
