'Comedy Circus' actor Rehman Khan arrested in Mumbai on rape charges

The actor was reportedly arrested after an intense police search.

Comedian Rehman Khan was arrested on rape charge in Mumbai's Kurla on Tuesday, according to media reports. The report on an entertainment news portal said that a complaint was filed by a Mumbai woman at the Santacruz Police station on February 29.

According to the report, Khan borrowed Rs 2 lakh from the woman. When she asked for the money later, he reportedly took her to a hotel in Vasai and raped her. The woman says that she was blackmailed by Khan with the video of the rape.

Khan had reportedly met the woman through social media app WeChat.

The actor has been seen on TV shows such as the Comedy Circus, Mad in India, The Great Indian Laughter Challenge Season 3 and Nautanki - The Comedy Theatre. He was arrested on Tuesday after an intense police search.
