After doing a guest appearance in the Akshay Kumar starrer Gabbar Is Back in 2015, Chitrangda Singh returns to the limelight with Nikkhil Advani's next, Bazaar. The shooting for Bazaar kicked off with Saif Ali Khan, last week at a mall in Mumbai. Now Chitrangda Singh has been roped in by the makers to play his wife.

The dusky beauty was last seen in a special appearance for the song Aao Raja in Gabbar is Back in 2015, starring Akshay Kumar and Shruti Haasan. Baazaar features Saif in the role of a businessman while Radhika plays his secretary. The poster of the film, which released earlier this month, has Saif in character sporting salt and pepper hair.

What's more is that Chitrangda has reportedly replaced Prachi Desai in Nikkhil's film. However, the filmmaker insists that Chitrangda was always the first choice for the part. "I'm happy that the cast is looking so exciting. We have Saif, Chitrangda, Radhika Apte and Rohan Mehra. The shoot has just begun and will be wrapped up by mid-August while the film is slated for a December release. Prachi has expressed interest in working with my production house but that is for another project. As far as the role of Mandira in Baazaar is concerned, Gauravv K Chawla, my director, came up with the idea of casting Chitrangda," says Nikkhil.

He further added that script was going undergoing revisions before the team started shooting and Gauravv wanted to to lock the script before he approached an actress for the role. Though Chitrangda will be seen on the screen after a span of two years, Nikkhil insists this isn't a comeback, saying, "I won't call it a comeback but just the fact that she hasn't done anything for quite some time was instrumental in us considering her because it's a powerful character that's silent and simmering, like a volcano about to erupt. Casting her opposite Saif makes the film about strong actors and characters."
