In a very short span of time Alia Bhatt has managed to mark her in Bollywood. Not only has she proved her mettle as an versatile actress, Mahesh Bhatt’s beti has also shown the industry that she can get cash registers jingling too. And mind you, she is just four films old. After making a smashing entry in Bollywood with Karan Johar’s Student Of The Year, Ms Bhatt took everyone by surprise with her second him film Highway. The Imtiaz Ali directorial which wasn’t a typical masala entertainer earned Alia a lot of accolades from the critics as well as industrywallas. In fact, with this film, Alia Bhatt in real sense announced her arrival. While on one hand her journey to stardom seemed perfect, on the other hand the B-town beauty was ridiculed on social media courtesy her general knowledge fiasco on KJo’s show Koffee With Karan. Yes, we all remember that infamous episode, don’t we? For months internet trollers kept coming up with Alia jokes and memes and the talented actress was tagged ‘blonde’, ‘stupid’ and what not. Today as the 2 States heroine turns 22, we give you 5 reasons that prove Ms Bhatt is not even close to being a blonde:

From zero to hero

After her first stint on Koffee With Karan, Alia became the talk of the town for obvious reasons. Her jokes and memes went viral on internet and the babe received a lot of flak for not knowing the name of the President of India. While anyone else would have lost their cool, the Shaandaar actress remained calm and turned the situation around with Alia Bhatt: The Genius of The Year video. She smartly gave it back and at the same time proved its okay to laugh at one self. Now would a blonde come up with such an awesome idea?

I don’t know it all, but I do know!

Okay, so Alia goofed up on KWK but what’s the big deal. We all do in our lives and not once but  a lot of times. So let’s cut some slack here. Also, since then the Udta Punjab heroine has actually made sure to stay updated on what’s happening. Well, check out her Twitter handle and you’ll know. From Oscars to the ongoing Cricket World Cup, the babe has been keeping a tab on all of it. Certainly shows how Alia is trying to better herself.

Alia knows who is Julio Cesar, do you?

I am pretty sure most of you don’t but Alia Bhatt does. Well, he is the Brazilian goalkeeper and Ms Bhatt totally loves him. Yes, the 22-year-old actress spoke about football last year while promoting her film Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania. She had said, “I am supporting Germany and want to spread some cheer. I want them to win the World Cup this year. But if not Germany, then the next team that I am supporting is Brazil because I am totally in love with the goalkeeper Julio Cesar. He is fantastic. He has played so well and good looking.” KJo’s protege was even active on Twitter during FIFA. So apart from movies, Alia does know about a lot of things. So is the blonde tag justified? Nahh…

Choice of roles

The fact that she has done variety of roles shows how smart Alia has been in choosing her roles. The babe has played the right cards as far as her career is concerned. No wonder, she has already worked with quite a few celebrated filmmakers and others are already queuing up to sign her for their films. Despite coming from a filmy background, Alia didn’t start off by working with her own father or starring in his films. She chose to do it her way and we all know the result. So she is not only smart but confident and talented too, right peeps?

Like father, like daughter

That Mahesh Bhatt is one of the most intelligent beings is known to all. Well, his daughter may not be as wise but she sure knows what is right and that opinion matters. From starring in a short film to create awareness about women’s safety to recently giving it back to a reporter when asked about her personal life, the Bhatt gal is surely strong headed as her father. The actress is always up for supporting social causes and never shies away from voicing her opinion on social media or otherwise. And lastly, apart from acting, she even sings. Whoa… someone is surely talented or does someone still believe in the ‘blonde’ tag?
