Anil Kapoor lauds Marathi film penned by IAF officer Mumbai, Jun 23 (PTI) Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor has lauded the Marathi film penned by a senior officer of the Indian Air Force (IAF). The "Dil Dhadakne Do" said it was a major contribution to the rising graph of Marathi cinema.

"From what I have seen in the film, I can say that this is a stupendous work and effort. The film has been made with passion," Anil said at the music launch of the film "Manatlya Unhat" here last evening. Written by Wing Commander Sanjay Patil, the film, which features three national award winning actors, is slated for release on July 24. "The content of regional films, specially that of Marathi films, is excellent," Kapoor said. He also recalled acting in a Marathi film by late Laxmikant Berde. "I began my career with regional films," he said.

The film deals with travails of parents who make sacrifices to ensure their children have good upbringing and quality education, and support them in realising their dreams in life. "It is inspired from the pains my parents took for my upbringing and education," the officer said. The film features Kishor Kadam, Mitali Jagtap and Hansraj Jagtap, a child artist. "Each one of us have certain dreams and we strive hard to turn our dreams into reality," Patil said.

"For accomplishing our dreams, we get the support of our parents who work hard to ensure we get best of education which has become very costly now a days. "Do the children who run around to fulfil their own dreams even pause and give a thought to the aspirations of their parents ? Do they ponder if their parents have realised their dreams. The film deals with these issues," he said. "Manatlya Unhat" is produced by Vijayshree Patil of Anand Sagar Productions. This is the first film under this banner and is directed by Pandurang Jadhav. "I liked the story narrated to me by Sanjay Patil and I felt the film has a good message for the youth of today and I am sure it will be liked by everyone," Jadhav said.

Kailash Waghmare, who has acted in critically acclaimed play "Shivaji Underground in Bhimnagar Mohalla" also stars in the movie, whose other cast include Sameer Dharmadhikari, Nagesh Bhosle, Ruchita Jadhav, Chhaya Kadam and child actors Manthan Patil and Oveshikha Patil.
