Actor Inder Kumar detained on alleged charges of rape

Bollywood actor Inder Kumar has been detained by Versova police on alleged charges of rape, sexual assault and causing physical hurt to a 23-year-old woman. The complainant has been sent for medical examination, once the report comes, Kumar will be placed under arrest, said a police officer on conditions of anonymity.

Based on the complaint filed by the victim, the police have booked Kumar under sections 376 (Rape), 324 (causing grevious hurt) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), the police said.

According to the police, Kumar and his wife Pallavi had a major fight on Thursday evening. Following that, Pallavi came to the Versova police station and complained against Kumar. “Pallavi also complained that she suspected Kumar of having a relationship with another woman,” said a police officer.

After this, even Kumar came to the police station, however, after an hour things were sorted between the two and they went home, the police said.

According to the victim, after Kumar and his wife reached home, Kumar called the victim to his house in Four Bungalows, Andheri and allegedly assaulted her with a broken beer bottle.
