After a long wait, Aamir Khan-Anushka Sharma starrer PK has finally released amidst much fanfare and as expected, the film brought in a tsunami at the box office. After receiving good reviews, the film has raked in over Rs 26 crore on its opening day at box office, thereby ending the drought at the box office which lasted over a month.

There has been tremendous positive word of mouth post the release which is benefiting the film at the cash registers.  It has garnered a lot of appreciation not just for its story but also for its brilliant performances.

PK is believed to be one of Rajkumar Hirani’s finest films and Aamir Khan's best performance. The film has received a thumbs up from the audiences and people from the industry. Even across the globe people have loved it.

As a result of this, the Aamir Khan starrer has set the cash registers blazing and is expected to be one of the biggest blockbusters of the year. Although it has earned a massive Rs 26 crore on its opening day, it fell short of Shah Rukh Khan starrer Happy New Year’s opening day record by miles.

What needs to be seen is whether PK keeps up its momentum in the coming week and whether it can cross Salman Khan’s Kick lifetime collections.
