One of the two women toppers in Common Admission Test (CAT) 2017 this year is an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi graduate who prepared for the exam along with her job.

Of the 20, who scored 100 percentile, two are women and three are non engineers, which is different from last year when there was no woman in top 20.

Top scorer Chhavi Gupta is a Delhi based professional. "I graduated from IIT-Delhi in biotechnology in 2016 and have been working with a private company since then."

"It was difficult to prepare alongwith a job because you would not have much time after work, but I would make sure that I study for at least four hours each day, even if I am sleepy or tired. On the weekends, I took coaching and wrote mock tests to monitor my progress."

Chhavi wishes to get admission into one of the top IIMs – Ahmedabad, Bangalore or Calcutta, and is looking forward to pursue specialisation in operations and marketing.

Out of the three sections in the exam, she scored highest – a perfect 100 – in logical reasoning and data interpretation.
