Police have apprehended the juvenile, who was on the run after his cousin was killed when the two were trying to pose for a selfie with a loaded pistol, early this month. The juvenile has been nabbed from UP's Mathura.

The incident took place on March 8 when the selfie claimed the life of a 23-year-old man as he was shot accidentally while trying to pose with a loaded pistol in Rohini's Vijay Vihar area. The initial probe revealed that it was a juvenile known to the victim, who had pressed the trigger of the pistol while posing in the picture, who was later on Sunday apprehended.

According to the police, the juvenile said that while posing for the selfie he had asked the deceased, the owner of the pistol, to remove the magazine. "He said that the victim had loaded the pistol before removing the magazine, hence, when the trigger was pressed by mistake, the bullet pierced through his head and the man died," a senior police officer said.
