Even as BJP is all set to sweep the MCD polls in the capital, the ruling party has decided to keep victory celebrations low-key in view of the recent killing of 25 CRPF men in a Maoist attack in Sukma, Chhattisgarh.
Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari said, "It is a big day for the party, but the heart is pained at the recent attack on the armed forces in Sukma. It is a big loss for the country. So we have decided to keep the affair low-key."
Senior party workers at the Delhi BJP office at 14 Pt Pant Marg said that keeping the incident in mind, they have not called for dhol or drummers to mark the victory.
The party office wore saffron and green while no preparations for a celebration could be seen.
So far the trends show BJP leading in 182 seats while results from some seats show the party has won from Daryaganj, Janakpuri East and West and Madhu Vihar, while the AAP and Congress are trailing far behind at 41 and 38 seats respectively.
