Illegal casino bust in Delhi's New Ashok Nagar

The police have recovered 10 desktops and Rs 38,130 cash from their possession.

An illegal casino which was being run in the guise of a gaming parlour was busted by the Delhi Police at East Delhi's New Ashok Nagar area on Sunday. The police have arrested 14 people, including the owner, in connection with the case. The police have recovered 10 desktops and Rs 38,130 cash from their possession.

According to the police, they received a tip-off about the illegal casino in New Ashok Nagar area. Following which, a raid was conducted and the said information was found to be true.

"A raid was conducted and an illegal casino was found operating. Thirteen people including the manager were found to be gambling online. Ten desktops were found established in a shop. All the computers and routers and LAN connectors machines were seized and Rs 38,130 were recovered from the shop," said Pankaj Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (East).

A case under section ¾ Delhi Public Gambling Act was registered at New Ashok Nagar police station.

Further investigation is underway, the police said.
