FIR against four cops for murder

The Gautam Buddh Nagar Police have registered an FIR against four police officials in connection with the death of a 35-year-old man, who jumped off a police vehicle while being taken to the police station and was run over by a truck coming from behind. Following a tip-off, the police picked up Bobby and Kuldeep from the Jahangirpur area under Jewar police station for allegedly selling illicit liquor on Sunday. The family members of Bobby have alleged that he was threatened with the arrest and jumped off the vehicle to escape.

"While taking the arrested persons to the police station, one of the accused tried to flee and jumped from the police van, however, he was run over by a truck coming from behind and succumbed to his injuries," said Suniti, Superintendent of Police (Rural).

The family members of deceased and locals gathered at the police station and created a ruckus. According to police, an FIR has been registered on the charges of murder against sub-inspector Devendra Singh and he has been suspended from the charge of station officer at Jahangirpur police station. Constables Yashpal and Anil Verma and home guard Netrapal .
