The Delhi University (DU) witnessed a huge crowd on the second day of the admission season on Wednesday. The applicants, who could not complete their admission process on Tuesday because of technical glitches, also turned up at their respective colleges.

Despite "high"cut-offs, colleges at DU's North Campus remained flooded with aspirants throughout the day. For instance, at Hansraj College, despite the cut-offs for BCom (Hons) being as high as 98 per cent, hundreds of students turned up to enrol in the course. "The seats for BCom (Hons) are almost filled," said a student volunteer at the College. A similar situation was reported from the Hindu College and Sri Ram College for Commerce (SRCC).

The aspirants, who could not complete their forms on Tuesday due to technical issues, also turned up. "I came here on Tuesday as well, but the server was down. I am now here since 8.30 in the morning. It's almost four hours. There is a separate queue for depositing certificates and a separate one for taking the receipt. I hope this gets over soon," said Anshul Yadav, a candidate applying for BA (Political Science) at the Hindu College. "They could have done it in a better way," she added.

Meanwhile, people who could not make it to cut-offs also reached the campus to know about their chances. "I have scored 81 per cent marks. I am visiting colleges to know about the possible drop in subsequent cut-offs in any of the on-campus colleges," said Prakhar Gupta, who has come all the way from Bihar's Gaya.

Officials at DU, however, say that there will be only a marginal drop in cut-offs at on-campus colleges. "Students should rather go for courses than colleges. They should take admission in their desired course in any College," a senior official at the varsity's admission committee said.
