Delhi police commissioner Amulya Patnaik inaugurated a new conference hall at the Delhi Traffic Police Headquarters at Dev Prakash Shastri Marg in the national capital on Saturday. Following the inauguration, Patnaik was briefed about issues regarding traffic management and administration.
He held a ‘Sampark Sabha’ with about 1,500 traffic police personnel, across rank and designation. The personnel were asked to put forth their grievances and suggestions, and many of them came forward with personal and official issues, which the commissioner addressed.
While lauding the cops for doing good work regarding traffic arrangement in recent times, Patnaik told them about their future responsibilities. He is reported to have emphasised that the prime responsibility of the police is to serve the citizens, and asked them to ensure their demeanour while dealing with the citizens remains polite but firm.
Earlier, while welcoming the police commissioner, special commissioner of police, traffic, Taj Hassan, narrated the various activities undertaken by the traffic police, and also enumerated various technological upgradations achieved and those in the pipeline.
