Delhi LG Najeeb Jung approves increased ex-gratia payment for Home Guards

Delhi Home Guards will now get an enhancement of ex-gratia payment from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh in case of death due to accident during duty.

"L-G Najeeb Jung has approved the enhancement of payment of compensation in the form of ex-gratia lump sum from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh to the member of the Delhi Home Guards in case of death occurring due to accident in the course of performance of duties," GL Meena, special secretary (Home department of Delhi Government), said.

Meena also said that the payment of compensation in the form of ex-gratia lump sum of Rs 5 lakh has also been enhanced to Rs 10 lakh in case of death occurring in the course of performance of duties attributable to acts of violence by terrorists, anti-social elements, etc. for which a notification to this effect has been issued by the government.

"L-G has also approved the major action plan of the Home Guards for the year 20104-15 under which 7000 Home Guard Volunteers will be engaged," Meena said.
