Delhi: 3-year-old kidnapped girl rescued within 48 hours, two arrested

The Delhi Police on Monday arrested two accused in a case of kidnapping. The accused had allegedly kidnapped a three-year-old girl from Jama Masjid area of Old Delhi. According to the police the team rescued the girl within 48 hours and this timely rescue also saved the toddler from being sold for Rs 50,000.

According to the police, the accused have been identified as, Rani (20) and Sahili (20), were married six months ago, they were married with two brothers.

The police said, the three-year-old girl was kidnapped January 11 from Jama Masjid.

The complainant reported that he along with his wife, younger brother and two daughters had visited Jama Masjid. His daughters were playing near Vajukhana. After some time, he found that his younger daughter was missing. He searched her everywhere but she could not be traced.

During investigation, the footage of CCTV cameras were analysed in which three women were seen going with the kidnapped child but nobody could recognise these women.

A tip-off was received that two women would come in the area of Jama Masjid along with a kidnapped child. The police team laid a trap and both the women were apprehended and the kidnapped child was also rescued safely.

DCP (Central) Mandeep Randhawa said, they disclosed that they were allured by another woman who told them that she needed a child for which she could pay Rs.50,000. Woman also told them that they could kidnap the child from Jama Masjid area on Friday as large number of devotees came there for Jumma Namaz.
