A 22-year-old B.Tech student allegedly committed suicide at his rented room in the Beta 2 area in Greater Noida. Police have found a suicide note from the room in which the student stated that he was a "bad human being" and had fallen into "bad company" because of which he was ashamed of the life he was living here.
According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Vijendra Momjajam,a second year civil engineering student of IILM institute.
"He along with his two friends lived in a rented flat in Beta 2. All of them had left for Diwali vacations. Vijendra had returned early and was alone for the last three days." Station House Officer of Kasna police station, Jitender Kumar, said.
According to the deceased's friends, he had not shown any signs of depression. However, Vijendra's phone was not reachable since Sunday evening and they got worried .
"A friend visited his room to enquire about him on Tuesday morning. He kept knocking for a while but no one responded after which he informed the locals nearby and the police. Cops broke the door and found him hanging on a grill with a piece of cloth," Kumar added.
Police took the body into custody and have sent it for post-mortem. They added that it appears that he committed suicide on Sunday and switched off his mobile phone but they are exploring all angles in this case.
"We have recovered a suicide note from the room in his native language in which he has stated that nobody is to be blamed for his death. He addressed his parents saying he could not become the good boy they wished him to be," said a senior official.
Police said that they have also informed the deceased's family. Vijendra was a native of Imphal and his father Momjajam Virmangol Singh is a retired cooperative inspector.
