ASI of Delhi police found dead in Seelampur police barracks

An assistant Sub-Inspector of Delhi police was found dead under mysterious circumstances inside the barrack of North East Delhi's Seelampur police station on Friday night. Prima facie, it appears natural death, however a post mortem will decide on the , police said.

According to police, the ASI has been identified as Vijay, a native of Himachal.

"A constable was in the police station checking the barracks when he spotted Vijay who was bleeding from his nose. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead," said a senior police officer.

Police said that the family members of the deceased have stated that he had been ill for quite some time. The doctors have verbally stated that it seems to be natural death.

Vijay was recently transferred from north-east district to 7th Battalion.
