After going through a long ego battle during the MCD elections, the Congress is all set to have its oldies back in the frame. Veteran Congress leader and former Delhi CM Sheila Dikshit will be seen standing with Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee Chief Ajay Maken to fight against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

Maken, on Tuesday, had a meeting with Dikshit in which he requested her to participate more actively in the party activities. "Delhi now remembers her for a sane & development oriented Governance. Sheila ji had a great role in mentoring me as her Cabinet Minister. We will all work together to regain the glory of Delhi! (sic)," Maken tweeted on Wednesday.

However, Dikshit did not confirm her availability. "This is what he has to say. Let us see what is being done first. One must not forget that I am a Congress supporter," Dikshit told DNA.

As the AAP completes three years in the national Capital on February 14, the grand old Congress party has chalked out a plan in which they will be raising various issues where the ruling party has failed in the city.

"Many old members of our party have been missing her. She has been a great role model for the party, including me. I have requested her to actively participate in the party's agenda," Maken told DNA.

Starting from Thursday, the Congress will raise different issues and continue with it till February 14. "On the last day i.e February 14, Shiela ji and I together will conclude our issue-based campaign," added Maken.

During the municipal elections in 2017, senior Congress leaders including Dikshit, Haroon Yusuf, Dr AK Walia, Sandeep Dikshit had come out in the open blaming the poor leadership for the disappointing results.
